Synethia Rosa

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010

Here’s the full post from Synethia Rosa’s portrait session last week! I had so much fun photographing Synethia. She’s not just good behind the camera, she’s a natural in front of it, too. While she can rock a serious face, she can also make some crazy/silly faces. You won’t see those in this post, though, because I didn’t want to embarrass her. Well, I don’t know about you, but I would be embarrassed if someone put pictures online of me making crazy faces. Not that I make crazy faces or anything, of course…

Anyways, it was wonderful to hang out with Synethia again. I think we were both a bit nervous about the shoot. She was nervous to be in front of the camera (even though she’s fabulous at modeling!) and I was nervous to be photographing another photographer. But laughter made those nerves vanish, and I think we both did a pretty decent job. See for yourself. :)

Synethia | Sneak peek

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

I’ve been quite busy the past week, which explain the lack of blog posts. If you follow me on Facebook, you know a tiny baby bunny was taking up much of my time, but passed away early this morning. *sniff* Even though I had a rough morning, I was able to have a fun session this evening with the lovely Synethia. She is the girl behind the camera at Synethia Rosa Photography and is working hard to build her young business. She photographed my senior portraits a few weeks ago (I’ll post some shots soon, promise!), and I got to do some headshots for her tonight. We had so much fun exploring Venice Avenue on the island. There was a lot of laughter going on!

I’ll leave you with a sneak peek tonight, and I can’t wait to share the rest later.

Garrison & Greyson

Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010

I had another session with a client from Georgia (remember Leo the mighty Chihuahua?), this time a child session! This family was in Englewood for a short vacation before school started again. There was some nasty weather on the evening we originally planned to do the shoot, but the next morning we were greeted with lovely, sunny skies – perfect weather for a session! I had a blast hanging out on the beach with these two brothers. Seven-year-old Garrison had the most amazing blue eyes, and his little brother, Greyson, was a total ham. Anytime I pointed the camera his way, he’d smile, strike a pose, or make one of his funny faces. After getting some portraits in their nice clothes, we set the boys free to swim and dig for shells and shark teeth. It was a fun morning at the beach!

I think I’ve found my niche with people photography – babies and young kids. Honestly, it’s a lot like photographing dogs! Kids and dogs are so real and natural in front of the camera, and that is what I love about them. Portfolio building rates are still available for babies, kids, and senior portraits, so please get in touch with me today to book your shoot!

Paige & Dale | Class of 2011

Friday, June 11th, 2010

I spent an afternoon photographing Paige and Dale’s senior pictures a couple of weeks ago. They found a great spot with lots of trails right next to the beach, a spot I’m sure I’ll use again, as it made some lovely green bokeh! It was quite hot, but they were troopers and we had a great shoot. It was something new for me, as I’ve never photographed a guy or a couple before! Thankfully I had two good, fun models, so it wasn’t very difficult at all. Thanks for a fun shoot, you two! Enjoy the images. :)

Amy | Class of 2011 | Venice senior portraits

Monday, May 10th, 2010

Earlier this month I had the privilege of photographing Amy’s senior portraits. She’s my first senior portrait client, actually, and my first senior rep. If you think she looks familiar, it’s because I photographed Amy and her sister, Tricia, earlier in the year, to practice my people photography skills. I had a wonderful time photographing her in January, and an even better time this month.

Amy is a beautiful girl with a great, outgoing personality, and is an awesome natural model. We hung out around Venice Avenue for the shoot, braving the intense heat and humidity (with the help of some ice cream, of course) to get some great pictures. Despite the heat, it was a great afternoon for a shoot! It was so much fun to photograph Amy!

Enjoy the images!

Aren’t her blue eyes gorgeous?

Amy was up for anything, even sitting on the dirty newspaper stands when I forced asked her to!
