Friday Five | Andrea Bocelli, Black Friday, and thankfulness

I think it’s safe to sum up the last few weeks in one word: busy. I’m so thankful for the work, but it has kept me from doing Friday Five. This week I’ve gotten all of my client work done, so I’ve been free to just sit and enjoy doing nothing. Wednesday I went to the park. Thursday, I chilled out at home with my family, ate, and watched the parade. And today? Well, today was my first time out shopping on Black Friday, so I guess I was busy, but it was nice. I can’t wait to sleep in tomorrow and enjoy another day of relaxation before next week decides to sneak up on me and I’m buried in work once more. But I’m thankful. I’d much rather be busy and enjoy the my time off than be doing nothing and feel like a lazy bum. You know what I mean?

  1. Andrea Bocelli – I had only heard this man’s voice one time before yesterday, when I heard him sing in the Macy’s parade. Today I picked up his new Christmas album, My Christmas, and can’t stop listening to it. What a voice. You should definitely go pick up a copy for yourself, like, NOW!
  2. Up – Last week I made my family sit down and watch Up with me. I don’t think I’ve seen a Pixar movie that I’ve loved more. It’s sad, happy, sweet, funny, wonderful. The best part? The talking dogs. Somebody really needs to invent a talking collar so Buddy can talk to me. Please and thank you!
  3. Black Friday – No, I was not one of the crazy people who got up at 4 am to shop. I went out around noon with my mom and little sister. We found some great deals and I can home with bags of clothes. Now, don’t got thinking I only got stuff for myself, I purchased gifts for my family. But I can’t tell you what those are, because then nobody would be surprised. How was your Black Friday? Did you camp out in front of stores or chill out at home and eat leftovers?
  4. Monday – Okay, Monday. Now, I know you’ll be here before I know it, but can you please be kind when you come? I already know I’ll have a lot of work to do, both photo and school related. All I ask is that you be gentle. Go easy on me. Please?
  5. Thankfulness – Although we should be thankful every day of the year, Thanksgiving Day was a reminder to be thankful for what we have been given – family, friends, food, love, life, health, and the Lord who gave it all to us. I have so much to be thankful for. Not only do I have a wonderful family, growing business, good health, awesome dog, and amazing friends, but I am here. I made it. This past summer was insanely hard. Never did I expect to go through what happened to me and my family. But God is good and He never allows us to go through anything that we cannot bear. We clung to Him and He brought us through. I am so thankful for my great Savior and all that He has blessed me with, even the hard things.

So, how was your week? I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with family, friends, and, of course, good food! I am very thankful for you, my lovely blog readers, for visiting, commenting, and supporting me. Thank you, thank you! :)

I’ll leave you with this shot of Miss Elizabeth’s yummy, foamy lips. Happy Friday!
