Stormy | Englewood cat photographer

Stormy came over to help me with my cat photography skills. All I can say is this: cats are not dogs. As sweet and laid back as Stormy is, he wouldn’t work for food, toys, or affection. He just wanted to chill out behind the couch. Every chance he got, he tried to sneak away. It was hard work, but I think I got a few good shots. What do you think of my first cat photos? Anyone have any tips for photographing kitties?

I’d say keep doing what you’re doing, Emilee! Great shots! :)

Emilee, I haven’t been around for a while, and I just wanted to congratulate you on all the great work!! You have grown so much since I last stopped by! :) Good job !! I love the kitty photos, I have the HARDEST time trying to take photos of my cat, so I just gave up! Haha, but…. I would try finding out what are the cats favorite toys, and start there. My cat LOVES playing with bags that crinkle, and long feather boas. Anything the cat might be interested in would be a good place to try and keep them entertained/staying in the same spot for a while. Can’t wait to see some more kitty photos!

Great job!! I love the photos! What you’re doing is definitely working! My cat IS like a dog, she’s an odd one, so she’s a bit easier, but for most cats, I agree with Michelle, find what pushes each particular cats buttons, there’s something every cat loves! I can’t wait to see more!

Nice job! I once did a shoot for my boss with his two kittens. Phew! It was worse than trying to shoot a 2 year old! I just worked on wearing them down with play, once they slowed down it helped. I also used toys to get their attention….that worked about 20% of the time LOL.

These are great! It’s funny, I actually think cats are easier to photograph than dogs, mostly because they are better at sitting still! I agree with Michelle above – toys help, treats help, they like hiding sometimes so bags and blankets help. And maybe a little more patience than usual :)

Thank you all for your awesome comments and kitty tips! I really, really appreciate all of you taking the time to stop by and share a few words. I’ll definitely spend some time finding out what makes cats tick. They’re beautiful animals and I would love to photograph them more often. You comments definitely help. Thank you all, lovely readers! :D
