Beach Days Are Here!

Well, this is Florida, so technically any day is a beach day! But we’re at the great time of year when it hasn’t gotten too unbearably hot, hurricanes aren’t bearing down on us, and season is slowing down into the steady, quiet days of summer. This is my favorite time of year for Location Sessions at our lovely local beaches! In fact, we have created a special, limited time promotion for beach sessions on Boca Grande, one of my favorite locations.

Simply schedule your pet or child’s photo session on Boca Grande by Memorial Day and we will give you bonus set of custom greeting cards, valued at $185. Your favorite image(s) will be used to create a set of 25 beautiful cards, printed onto top quality linen paper–the perfect texture to write on.

Your session may take place after Memorial Day, but it must be booked and the Creative Fee must be paid in full by 5/27/13 to claim this exclusive offer.

Buddy & His Couch

Buddy would like to take a moment to share what he considers to be the best way to spend the weekend. Why go outside in the heat (or cold) when you can be inside on the couch? Especially when your humans bought an extra comfy couch just for you?

He’s not spoiled at all. Not one bit. :)

And Buddy guesses that it is okay to share your couch with other dogs on occasion (but humans are always better). It’s not often that Penny and Buddy pay attention to each other, but I suppose she was feeling left out.

Our Visit to Dakin Dairy Farm

In March I tagged along on a little homeschool field trip that my sister put together. The group visited Dakin Dairy Farm in Myakka City, and it was a lot of fun! We toured the farm and got to witness the entire process of producing their delicious, fresh milk–from feeding the cows fresh grass to putting the milk in crates and preparing to ship it off. I really enjoyed learning all about it. At first I wondered about how the cows felt about the whole thing, but the big girls seemed quite content with their life. They know just what to do, where to go. And they look very relieved once they are milked! The smell, though, I could have done without. Stinky horses will always smell better than stinky cows, in my opinion! At the end of the tour, we got to sample some of the milk. It was delicious! I could have chugged down a whole gallon of the chocolate milk, but thankfully they were out and only had small bottles. lol

There were lots of other animals at the farm, too–massive pigs, a couple of tree-climbing goats, fluffy sheep, curious donkeys, and of course, some farm dogs. I had the most fun meeting the different animals and photographing them. I could have stayed there all day just sitting with the donkeys. I loved them!
