Southeastern Guide Dogs’ 2012 Calendar

Remember how I said I was working on a couple of special, secret projects a few months ago? Well, you’ve already heard about The Unexpected Pit Bull calendar that I was honored to be a part of, but now I have something even more exciting to share! Southeastern Guide Dogs, a wonderful organization that I have worked with several times, asked me to photograph their entire 2012 calendar. I made the trip to their Palmetto campus in June and spend seven hours photographing pudgy little puppies and several dogs in training. Yesterday, the finished product showed up in my mailbox. It looks amazing! It is so exciting to see my work in print like this, and to know that people all over the country will have these calendars hanging in their homes. I couldn’t be happier! :)

For now, I’ll share a few photos I took of the calendar this afternoon. Next week I’ll show you some outtakes. If you’re anything like me, you’ll go crazy when you see all of the insanely adorable puppies!

This year, the focus of the calendar is on the puppies and dogs that become the incredible partners and eyes of SGD’s students. These two puppies are my favorites. Nevermind, they’re all my favorites! But just look at that rolly poly little black pup–it’s a mini Buddy!

As a repeat puppy-raiser, these sweet, intelligent, amazing creatures consume a lot of my time, enery and most of all, my heart. Thank you for doing them justice and using your talent to share our message of love and independence.
